The Arcane Codex
A downloadable game for Windows
The Arcane Codex
This is a game i made with my friend. It started as a passion project and then we made it our school project so we didn't have to pause the development, so it is not as polished as we had a deadline. We stopped working on it mid development and presented it as an alpha project and I never really got back to it.
I built this project just now from my last progress so yeah :D
Programming - me
3D and 2D art - my friend ( doesn't want to be credited lol )
The voices in the game are from FakeYou.
Some 3D assets are from the internet, but I can't remember from where
We made the audio together.
The game is made simply for presentation of a concept.
The "stats" button doesn't work.
Open Inventory with "E"
When you get the shadowfang sword, equip it with "Q", or it wont show in battle
WASD - movement
"P" - pickup
Interact with npcs with "I" and start dialogue with "Enter"
To go through dialogue press "N"
Left mouse button to choose magic spell
This is my first bigger project so criticism is accepted

The art is so cute! I like it a lot, the cinematic was very nice as well! The music is nice and chill! I found it quite difficult to navigate and ended up fallout off the map because i went too far. The buildings seem to have a rendering issue where they keep disappearing and nothing has colliders making you walk through stuff. There's a lot of places where you fall off the map, and near the castle i went in the opposite direction but got stuck by an invisible wall. I didnt really managed to finish the game, but I can see potential.
No hate on AI voices, but the ones you used were pretty bad, perhaps look to a different company such as ElevenLabs. Audio balancing for voices could definitely be improved.
Very cute game! Good work!
Hello, thank you for the feedback! saw your comment a bit late, sorry! I appreciate you actualy played it through as much as you could. The game has no real end since it was a bit rushed so you didn't really miss anything :D
